When is registration? 

Registration opens in December and closes at the end of February.  Click the "REGISTRATION" tab to begin the process.

What is the cost of Registration?

Registration cost varies depending on grade level. Visit the registration page and select the appropriate grade to see current pricing.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Every player MUST have a current USA Lacrosse membership.  This is a separate cost from the registration fee.  Within our registration process, you will be linked to the USA Lacrosse website to process your player's membership.

For those families that reside in the Camas/Washougal area, we want to be sure that you know about the Camas Lacrosse program.  www.camaslacrosse.com  However, we understand that some families would prefer to play with our club.  As our goal is to grow the game, we welcome you to SWWALAX.

Do you have any discounts or scholarships?

Yes, we have a $25 sibling discount.  We do not have any scholarships at this time but if there is a specific need for a family, (loaner gear, payment plan) we will make every effort to accommodate.

We are new to lacrosse, are there any pre-season clinics where we can try it out?

Yes, we routinely offer TryLAX clinics that players can attend to try it out before committing to registering.  Equipment is provided.  Be sure to check our event calendar or follow us on social media.

When is the lacrosse season?

Practices start in March, games start after spring break and the season finishes in late May or early June.

What is "Club" lacrosse?

Club lacrosse teams play tournaments during the off-season and are made up of athletes who typically try out to be on the team. Playing for a club lacrosse team is crucial for any athlete who is hoping to play in college. Click here for more information about local club teams.

When and where are practices?

Please click the "Teams" tab and select the appropriate age group to view practice information.

When and where are the games?

Most games are played in the Portland metro area or Clark County but travel to Hood River, Salem, or Eugene may be necessary on occasion.

Does SWWALAX have a code of conduct?

Yes, Players, coaches, officials, parents and spectators are to conduct themselves in a manner that honors the game of lacrosse. Learn more about our Code of Conduct.

Will there be tournaments or jamborees?

Tournaments may be added depending on team availability.

What equipment is required?

Boys need a stick, helmet, gloves, arm guards, chest protector, cup, mouthguard, and cleats. Girls need a stick, goggles, and mouthguard.  Check out our EQUIPMENT page for more information.

Where do I get equipment?

Dick's Sporting Goods, Bigfoot Lacrosse are great places.  Sometimes you can find good gear on Craigslist but you should ensure that it meets current safety requirements.  Also, it's good to check with other families to see if they have any gear their player has outgrown. 

What is required to be a coach? Are you looking for coaches?

Coaches must be US Lacrosse Members and pass a background check.  SWWALAX provides training, drills, practice plans, etc.  SWWALAX  is always looking for parents who want to get involved and who love to coach so please email rebecca.swwalax@gmail.com if you're interested.
